Bismillaah Inalhamdalillaah was-Salaatu was-Salaamu 'Aalaa Rasulillaah wa Ba'd:
Assalaamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh. Alhamdulillaah, it is with great pleasure that I would like to inform you all that bi'idhnillaah, Germantown Masjid (http://germantownmasjid.org/) in Philadelphia (US) has agreed to publish Ta'addud Az-Zawjaat: Candid Reflections on Polygyny from the Muslim Ummah. They currently are having the book's manuscript looked over and reviewed by Ahlul-'Ilm and will work on its release once those with knowledge have approved its contents inshaaAllaah. Polygynous Expressions extends its gratitude first and foremost to Allaah subhaanahu wa ta'aalaa and then to the administration of Germantown Masjid and all those involved in getting the book published. May Allaah subhaanahu wa ta'aalaa accept it from me and you all as an extension of our worship of Him alone, Glorified and Exalted be He. Bismillaah Inalhamdalillaah was-Salaatu was-Salaamu 'Aalaa Rasulillaah wa Ba'd:
Assalaamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh. Some issues have been brought up regarding the content of the book Polygynous Blessings: Musings of a Muslim Wife falling into the category of "marital intimacy" which should not be shared in public. Excerpts from the book were shared with Shaykh Ma'mar of Yemen who was a student of Shaykh Muqbil bin Hadi Al-Wadi'ee for over 14 years, raheemahullaah, and is the imaam of Masjid Sharqain in Sana'a, which is affiliated with the Arabic institute in Sana'a, Yemen - Markaz Al-Medina (http://www.m-al-m.com/). The issue was brought to the Shaykh by Brother Aboo Haneen Bilaal, hafidhahullaah, who is a student in Yemen as well as an admin for Markaz Al-Medina. Brother Bilaal, in an email dated Wednesday, February 20, 2008, sent the following:
Bismi-llahi,
Okay sister I spoke with the shaikh this morning before coming to work about your concerns and he was very straight forward with the answers, but not necessarily harsh. He mentioned that "if the things you mentioned were not detailed leading to any intimate relations, (and we as adults know what intimate relations are), then this is no harm. If you were using something as an example then, there is no harm". He also said, smilingly, that if people are sensitive like this then they shouldn't read many books regarding issues such as the one you wrote about, but for the most part the person should have intentions on learning rather than criticizing.
Bismillaah Inalhamdalillaah was-Salaatu was-Salaamu 'Aalaa Rasulillaah wa Ba'd:
Assalaamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh. Submissions for the brothers' polygyny anthology as well as the co-wife anthology are no longer being accepted. Polygynous Expressions has merged the brothers' anthology with the co-wife anthology and we are diligently working to compile a beneficial piece of literature. May Allaah reward all those who have submitted material for publication. Please refer back to the Polygynous Expressions site in the future for updates on the release of our latest book, which will be entitled, "Ta'addud Az-Zawjaat: Candid Reflections on Polygyny from the Muslim Ummah."
Baarak Allaahu feekum!
Bismillaah Inalhamdalillaah was-Salaatu was-Salaamu 'Aalaa Rasulillaah wa Ba'd:
Assalaamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh. This message is to inform you that our brother Abul Hasan Maalik Aadam has agreed to review the anthologies being compiled by Polygynous Expressions inshaa'Allaah. Below you will find a message sent to Polygynous Expressions from Brother Abul Hasan Maalik. Baarak Allaahu feekum!
In Sha Allah I would be honored to review the works that you mentioned or any other future endeavors. Allah says in His Qur'an: "Help one another in piety and righteousness and do not aid one another in sin and transgression." Also in an authentic narration the Messenger of Allah said: "Allah will aid his servant as long as His servant aids his brother." So in following the texts of the Noble Book and the authentic Sunnah we will aid with whatever we are able to do and I include in that contacting the noble scholars of Islam for their guidance and advice. I ask Allah to increase all of us in taqwa and make us from those who hear and obey. And may Allah bless us to spread this upright way of al-Islaam in its purity to masses in the East and West. I look forward to hearing from you and looking over whatever you have. May Allah reward you with every good and repel from you every evil and hated thing.

As-Salaamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
In light of some speculation regarding the permissibility of my writing a book on polygyny due to my not being a scholar, I sought the naseehah of Brother Mustafa George regarding the matter. Brother Mustafa retrieved the following info from the 'ulamaa, may Allah reward him and all the scholars and students of knowledge. Ameen.

Is it permissible for a female to author a book mentioning the good aspects of polygny, if this female has not studied Islamic Education in a university or with the scholars?
Answer: This is something good that she would write such a book, but she should have it reviewed by the people of knowledge before distributing it.
